Beyond the Formal Curriculum

Our students are strongly encouraged to seek out opportunities to participate in the life of Seaton High School beyond the classroom.

Student Leadership

The Student Leadership Group comprises students from the Middle and Senior school. Students in the group are given the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes, develop skills in leadership, and help foster a positive school culture and community.

Roles and responsibilities vary; from representing the student voice to organising assemblies, hosting events and managing competitions and fundraising efforts.

In addition to the formal Leadership Group, there are many other opportunities throughout the year for students to develop their leadership and collaborative skills, such as being a student buddy and taking part in school working parties.

Students from year 7 onwards are encouraged to seek out both formal and informal leadership opportunities.

SPORT SA Carnival and Knockout Competitions

Seaton High School participates in SSSSA carnival and knockout competitions.

Each year, we field teams in baseball and softball, supporting the Diamond Sports program. Other sports and teams are nominated based on student interest. These have included:

  • Basketball
  • Football (AFL)
  • Soccer

Visual and Performing Arts Clubs (dance, drama, media, music, visual art)

Varying from year to year based on student interest, the clubs meet either at lunchtime or after school.

Students regularly work on collaborative projects, pursue an individual area of interest, develop technique or work towards a shared goal.

These clubs are open to all students regardless of whether they are studying the subject formally.

Volunteering and Community Service

Looking beyond our school gates, Seaton High School students are encouraged to volunteer their time, skills and expertise to create value for others, both at school and beyond, in the community.

Opportunities are available in a range of activities organised by the school and through suggestions to the Student Leadership Group.
